Holidailies 2015

It’s been a very long while since I’ve kept a journal consistently, either online, or on paper. It makes me a little sad that something that used to be a regular habit has become such a distant memory. At the same time, I think about how much time I used to spend maintaining my online journal: carefully crafting HTML, putting together graphics, changing fonts all the time … and I can’t figure out how I ever had the time to do it.

It’s hard enough finding five minutes to put together an entry these days. Facebook is both easier and less rewarding: short snippets shared … but it doesn’t really foster connection the way my old journals did.

Ultimately, this is why I’m dipping my toe back into the pool this year and registering for Holidailies 2015. I haven’t done Holidailies for a long time either and I used to participate every year. It’ll be interesting to see how this goes. I’m a lot more private about what I post in the public eye now than I was in my 20s. The audience has changed. The internet is a scarier place, a lot less polite.

We’ll see.
