Laura P - I know what you mean. I used to work in Woolwich in a travel agents with a very tight, badly fitting uniform. Those rolls were on constant display. I lost count of the amount of times I heard "Lovely lady, you go out with me tonight". Notice the lack of question mark. It was never a question, more an order!

I live in Peckham, south London, where there's a very large west African population. The ONLY men who ever hit on me are men from west Africa.

Unfortnately the only chat-up lines I've had have been very crude (e.g. "Hey woman! You married? Can I meet you later?" etc) so I've never taken any of them up on their offers!

I lived in Burkina Faso for nine years as a chubby (to western eyes) woman . And I was NEVER hit on so much in all my life! Plus I had other women ask me how I kept my great figure!

A couple of years back, I was reading an FA blog and the topic of the day was cultural standards in the USA. When I commented about my experiences in Burkina, I got SO slammed by one of the other commenters. She called me a colonial oppressor, racist and a bunch of other nonsense. It was crazy and I got a really bad impression of the FA movement as a scary place, full of politcally correct, very unkind people, who are always looking for the worst in others. Seriously! It was only in 2009 that I started reading a couple of FA blogs again.
But the only one I dare ever comment on is yours, as I know you wouldn't stand for name-calling and unkindness.
