Waiting for the GOOD karma…

So, the work bonus that I was whooping about yesterday turned out NOT to be about a work referral, but is instead part of the profit-sharing that the Chamber offers as a benefit to employees when, well, the Chamber makes a profit. BECAUSE I did not actually work last fiscal year (ended 31 August 2008), I’m not convinced I actually deserve said bonus, so have e-mailed my supervisor to check. Hopefully, when he gets back in to the office next week, he’ll tell me that I’m such a star that he’s given me a bonus anyway.
Right.
Honestly, this universe-giving-me-money-then-requiring-it-back thing is getting really old. I’d be in hog heaven if I’d kept all the money I was accidentally overpaid this year. I’m going to be sad if I have to give back a piece of my iPod Touch to be! I also begin to wonder if I should start playing the lottery. Surely this is my year to win, since someone out there really, really wants to give me lots of free cash!
What a rotton deal. That’s frustrating that you may have to give it back – it should be on them to check eligability BEFORE they send it out!
