Assorted Ramblings

Oct 24th, 2007 by heidi

A few things I feel like saying, in no particular order:

* Bookworm Adventures is addictive like crack (although I have never taken crack, mind you). I am therefore WAY behind on work!

* Stitching on my Gift of Stitching’s Historical Countries Mystery Sampler is addictive like crack too. I wish I were at home stitching on it right now!

* Budgeting is hard. Being a fiscally responsible adult is hard. I whinge, I moan, I whimper.

* Mom, I love you to pieces. I wish you’d stop telling me about weight loss attempts the way that I’ve asked, because I think you’re pretty great the way you are and it bothers me that you don’t. It also bothers me that it ends up feeling like you think I should be losing weight too, even if I know that’s not your intent.

* The Joy of Cooking’s roast chicken with vegetables recipe is wonderful and my husband raved about it. He doesn’t rave about my cooking much, so that has made me happy!

* Julia. I don’t know you, except from your creative yet frequently vicious blog. Your mother is a good person. Give her a break. What happened in the past happened in the past and she and your father are doing their best to make up for it. Grow up, grow a heart, and try to act like the adult that you are. Angst does not creativity equal! Posting private hurts publicly so that your friends can attack your parents where they can see it is unacceptable.  Your fiance might be some kind of divine being to you but he seems like a jerk to me.  I might be five years older than you but it feels more like fifty! If I hadn’t been asked otherwise, I’d comment and tell you so.

* I could really do with posting some more pictures of my kid on Flickr. I am far too good at procrastinating.

* Students at work: toilets are easy to flush. Just do it.
