This web site has had multiple incarnations over the years and has lain fallow for some time, especially since the rise of Livejournal as an online journaling tool and community site. After discovering increasing numbers of my friends there, I switched most of my daily life chronicling efforts over to LJ to take advantage of the easy security setup and custom filters to allow access for my personal writings to my friends and family only. A side effect of that move, was that my online journal, Thursday’s Child also began to suffer from serious neglect and gradually though I intended to revamp the web site and turn into a personal showcase of creative projects, I abandoned it for a very long time with a perpetual sign on the welcome page indicating “Back Soon”.

Today, I’m abandoning “Back Soon” to kick the site off once more. My journal will be re-integrated with the site and I’ll be taking a closer look at some of the WordPress plugins that are available out there to allow me to pull in a robust gallery for displaying artistic and craft projects. For now though, it’s a start to just get a new template onto the site, the software installed and set some goals for the place. My first project will probably be the site itself, integrating the journal, customizing the design, setting up a taxonomy for posting categories and a structure for the static pages.

It feels good to be using this space again, to have an actual personal homepage out there on the ‘net again.
